The Safeguarding Interface is non-statutory. It does not introduce new legal duties or replace existing safeguarding frameworks. It exists to support clearer understanding and decision-making where safeguarding responsibility is shared.

Schools, early years settings and organisations retain full responsibility for their own safeguarding policies, procedures and statutory obligations. The Safeguarding Interface supports alignment where safeguarding responsibilities intersect — it does not replace existing systems.

Alignment accreditation is voluntary. Some education settings may choose to reference it as part of their expectations for external providers, but it is not a statutory or regulatory requirement.
